Why do you love working for MAC?
M·A·C gives me the freedom to experiment, travel, work with super-talented friends, soak up exciting backstage atmospheres, make people happy with my Artistry, and, of course, I’m passionate about supporting the M·A·C AIDS FUND.

What products/looks are you seeing on the streets, and in clubs, markets, etc. where you live?
I believe most women want to highlight their inner beauty so they look unique and feel comfortable in their own skin. What makes my job so rewarding is that Russian women are naturally stunning & they have the courage to experiment with colour! Muscovite women love wearing Lady Danger with Fluidline in Blacktrack.

Do you have a signature look? What products or shades do you use?
I love complex shades and to create new colours by mixing existing shades. I always try to develop a unique makeup look for each person. I adore smoky eyes in different colours like Copperplate eye shadow and deep-deep red lips in Viva Glam I.

What was the first MAC product you fell in love with and why?
Oh, it was so long ago. It was probably Pink Opal Pigment…you can mix it with everything.

What are your go-to MAC products, when creating a look and why?
I am ADDICTED to M·A·C Eye Kohl pencils in Teddy and Prunella!

What products or shades best transform a look from day to night in one easy application?
Bright lips ALWAYS do the trick! Try a bright, bold & modern Lipstick like Pink Nouveau or Fusion Pink. Apply it with a finger very lightly (on lips and cheeks) for a sheer, semi-transparent look or with a brush for a look that’s rich and dense.

Ecotools bamboo foundation brush review and photos

Ecotools bamboo foundation brush is perfect for applying liquid foundation. The bristles are nice and soft and will not scratch your skin but still are dense and firm enough to pick up the foundation. The size of the bristles is good enough to pick up the product and they cover large areas of the face in a small amount of time. The small head size allows me to use it around my eye and nose area.

For me the ecotools bamboo foundation brush does apply foundation like a pro would. With gentle strokes as if you are painting your face, apply the foundation all over your face and continue with the strokes till your foundation blends in completely. I love the way my face looks after I apply my foundation with this brush. It looks almost flawless with an excellent coverage. The foundation blends into my skin very easily. In case you feel your foundation applies streaky (happens if product formulation is thick) add a few drops of water to the foundation before application.

Rimmel extra wow lash mascara review, photos and swatches

I love “Kate Moss” and that is why I got this mascara. hehe.

Plus the packaging is kinda jazzy and I also wanted to add some “WOW” to my lashes. With all done I can say that Rimmel extra wow lash mascara does “WOW” your lashes for a price which is irrestible (very cheap).

The formula is rich, thick and pigmented and comes with a soft bristle brush. With one coat, I get very natural looking lashes. With second coat (wait for 5 mins between each coat) I have separated (no clumps), curled and lengthened lashes that still look natural. The brush curls my lashes during application and my lashes hold on to the curl throughtout the day (I am amazed). The volume is not dramatic but good and the length achieved is really good keeping the eyes looking natural at the same time.

This mascara comes with a specially designed over sized application brush to coat your eyelashes from root to tip, defining each individual lash without clumping them to give them full sensational eyelash look. This product includes many good ingredients such as beeswax, olive oil and keratin and is ophthalmologist tested and suitable for those of us with sensitive eyes or those who wear contacts.

Rimmel extra wow lash mascara lasts the whole day on my eyelashes and at the end of the day it is very easy to remove too (no rubbing tugging here).

Stila holiday lip glaze set 2011 review, photos and swatches

I always wanted to try the stila lip glazes and finally when I saw these released as a part of the “Stila Holiday 2011 Makeup Collection” I just had to buy them.

These glosses are mini versions 0.05 fl.oz/1.5ml and contain four best selling shades and four limited edition shades. I feel that this set has plenty of color variety with shimmers and plain colours and you save a lot with this set (price $25.00 a $110 value!). These glosses come with a click style brush applicator for easy mess free application. When twisting the lip gloss literally wait between each click-click because the gloss oozes out of the brush within a fraction of a second. I love these lip glazes, they give a nice glossy sheen, and feel so moisturizing (what a relief).

Stila lip glazes are awesome, they are not sticky and each one smells delicious, yumm! The colours are sheer and some shades can be built up for some color pay off.

Every year stila releases such lip glaze sets (with different shades every year), and I feel such sets are the perfect way of trying new shades, stocking up and saving a lot. Get this before its gone!

MAC Artist Faves: What does Gregory consider the “LBD” of makeup?

Gregory A is a backstage artist for Mac. Here is an excerpt from his interview.

What is one thing every girl/boy should carry in her/his makeup bag? why?
Their imagination. It’s limitless.

What has been a memorable shoot/show and what products did you use?
I kind of “do it all,” from working with numerous celebrities, to being the key artist on fashion shows in Paris, Milan and New York, to conducting Master Classes worldwide for top tier makeup artists. That being said, the majority of my work involves celebrities: from red carpet to TV appearances to photo shoots to videos, it runs the gamut. I’ve had some awesome and amazing experiences, from being taken on a 10 day trip to Japan with Dita Von Teese to Fran Drescher asking me to head up the Makeup Department on her sitcom. A massive career highlight was working with Cher. I used to beg to stay up to watch her show when I was a kid…a few years later and I’m designing the makeup for her Farewell Tour, then her Las Vegas Caesars Palace show!

How do you feel about men wearing makeup?
If so, what are some of your favourite tips for guys?
I’m all for it; I do it myself! Less is more. For me it’s about a small amount of Pro Longwear Concealer under the eyes or where there’s any darkness or discoloration. A small amount of Blot Powder to absorb excess oils and shine, and perhaps a hint of bronzer on the cheeks and temples for a pop of “health.”
