How to Apply Mineral Makeup

You just bought several jars of mineral make up from your local malls, so what now? The next thing that you need to do is to familiarize yourself with the art of applying mineral make up. A lot of people love mineral make up for the simple fact that they do not harm your skin and won’t be the cause of irritation and acne breakouts.

So if you are ready to use your first mineral make up, here are some guidelines that can help you out.

Prep the face
Make it a point to prepare your face before applying mineral make up. Clean up your face by washing then moisturizing. The mineral make up would stay longer and adhere to your skin when you moisturize and keep the natural oil on your skin. After applying moisturizer or face lotion, make sure that you wait for a couple of minutes before applying mineral make up, else, it would only melt the make up if you apply it right after you moisturize.

Use small amounts
A small jar of mineral make up can last you up to a month or so. Just pour a small amount of mineral make up on the cap of your jar so you won’t use too much of it. You can use a kabuki brush to apply the make up on your face. Using the right kabuki brush can do you wonders. So make sure that you pick the one that would suit your needs. Even if it cost a little too much, it is worth the investment. Make sure to dust off or tap your brush so you can get rid off excess mineral to achieve an even application.

Applying the make up
Apply your mineral make up by rubbing the kabuki brush on your skin. Use smooth circular motion. You can start off with the cheek, then to the sides of your face.

Add highlights
You can add highlights to your face by putting blush on and bronzers on the right places. Make sure to pick the right shade of highlighters to achieve that nice and glowing, natural look. There are mineral blush on and bronzers that you buy in the market.

Finishing touches
After you achieve a natural look and manage to even out your skin perfectly with your mineral make up, you can use a setting powder to finish up your look. This would prevent your mineral make up to melt.
