How men’s skin is different from women’s skin

Many beauty products which work for women may not work for men because men’s skin is different from women’s skin.

Many experts believe that a good quality skin product is suitable for both genders, this is true but in certain situations it is logical to use different skin care products for men.

A man’s skin is 20-30% thicker than a woman because a man’s skin has more collagen and elastin fibres in their skin. This also means they get less wrinkles. Woman’s skin loses collagen faster than man’s skin.

A man’s skin is more oily than woman’s skin. A man’s skin has smaller oil glands, it is more oily than woman’s skin due to the male hormone testosterone which is responsible for generating higher amount of oil secretions. The female hormone estrogen is responsible for the skin secreting less oil.

High oil production means the skin is susceptible to acne and blemishes so men’s skin care products should take this point in account.

Man’s skin have to face a lot of sunburn beacuse of the nature of their jobs and majority of them dont use sunscreen.

Woman’s skin is delicate and is more vulnerable to sundamage, this is the main reason why women suffer more from sun aging than men.
