Top Natural Skin Care Products

Top Natural Skin Care Products
By Dee Smith

Being a cosmetologist, I know that cosmetics companies take great liberties by exaggerating how much improvement one can really expect from their beauty creams. And not only that, they will say they make top natural skin care products, free of chemicals, when it isn’t so.

This is distressing, to say the least, because no one should be tricked into putting their health in jeopardy. We have enough threats to ward off that we have no control over. But we can certainly be vigilant about what goes on our skin and, therefore, into our bodies.

Ever since I discovered that chemicals in cosmetics could be the Number One killer of women I became extremely vigilant. This was not as easy as it may sound. There was so much to learn and one had to do a lot of digging to get to the bottom of things.

It may shock you to know that even cosmetic dermatologists are now tapping into a very lucrative side of business for themselves, putting out their own cosmetics lines. They sell their magic potions for a great profit. And they are not necessarily leaving out dangerous chemicals as you would expect. They certainly aren’t putting out top natural skin care products either.

Unsuspecting people who are doing what they can to look their best often fall for false promises. We all need to be careful out there, but once you get familiar with what’s good for you and what isn’t, there will be no more mistakes made. Now you can be armed with the names of the ingredients to avoid, and the ones that are good for you.

Please refer to this list when you are making choices. It will soon become easy for you to identify the top natural skin care products you should be using.

Dr. Oz, whose very popular TV show is teaching us about all aspects of health, should devote an hour to the top natural skin care products, if he hasn’t done one already. Cosmetics have become such a big part of the lives of women, and now men too, that we have to become our own watchdogs.

Today, because there is so much money to be made, the temptation is great for companies to hire attractive celebrities to push their products. These celebrities are paid a lot of money and will say just about anything. In reality they may not even use the cosmetics they are pushing.

You need to find a company that puts their dollars into research because they care about their clients more than about raking in money. Believe it or not, there are still companies out there that take pride in their name and care about your health. Once you settle on a company that makes only top natural skin care products, you will be able to look young and healthy for many years.

If you want more information about the top natural skin care products, as well as what chemicals do not belong in your cosmetics, please check out all the facts at: http://www.vibrant-skin-site.com

My Homemade Relaxing Herbal Bath Salt Recipes

Pink bath salt
© Photographer: Matka_wariatka | Agency: Dreamstime.com

Most of the women spend their time taking care of children, cleaning the house, cooking nutritous food for their family and if they are working, doing their jobs too.

It is always a busy day for me and after a day’s of hard work my energy levels are so low that I just want to go to sleep. But now I have found a perfect solution to help me unwind. When ever I feel low I fill up my bathtub with hot water and throw in some bath salts, grab a good book or that gossip magazine I wanted to read and soak my worries away.

These baths not only helped me to relax and feel anew but I also developed an interest for making homemade bath salts. These recipes are not only economical but also easy to make, plus you can alter the recipes by adding some finest or your choicest ingredients to them. Below I am sharing a few of my all time favorite homemade bath salt recipes.

Lavender bath salt
© Photographer: Matka_wariatka | Agency: Dreamstime.com

Calming Lavender
2 cups Epsom Salts
1/2 cup sea salts or dead sea salt
1/2 cup baking soda
4 drops of violet soap coloring
4 drops of Lavender Essential Oil

Mix both salts together in a large bowl. Add the baking soda. Stir in the Lavender Essential oil and the color. Let air dry and then pour into a glass jar. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of bath salt to your bathtub.

Bath salt with rose
© Photographer: Matka_wariatka | Agency: Dreamstime.com

Soothing Rose
2 cups Epsom Salts
1/4 cup sea salts
1/4 cup dead sea salts
4 drops of red or pink soap coloring
4 drops of Rose Essential Oil

Mix together the first 3 ingredients in a large glass bowl. Stir in the soap coloring and essential oil until well blended. Just add a few scoops as you pour the water.

Bath salt with ginko
© Photographer: Matka_wariatka | Agency: Dreamstime.com

Herbal Salts
2 cups Epsom Salts
1 cup sea salts
1 cup crushed herbs of your choice (rosemary, green tea, rose petals, citrus peels, lavender)
6-8 drops of blue soap coloring

Mix together the first 2 ingredients in a large glass bowl. Add the herbs and soap coloring. Mix in the remaining ingredients.

It is so easy to whip up these recipes and a batch will last you for several baths. Store them in glass jars, the colored salt crystals look attractive in them. Keep the lid tight.

You can also consider adding 1 cup milk, 1 cup oatmeal, fresh fruit, 1 spoon of base oils such as almond/olive/coconut/sesame/groundnut/sunflower and fresh herbs to your bathtub (note bathtub not the glass jar) to increase it’s skin nourishing properties.

Facial Muscles – Your Personal Identity

Facial Muscles – Your Personal Identity
By Daniel Butler

People remember faces a lot easier than they can remember names, and when you start to think about what really makes your face “you”, there is little wonder why this is the case. It is this personal make up that everyone around you can easily identify as being you, and it only takes a quick glance for this recognition to take place.

Although we all feature this unique personal look, we all share the same basic facial build to display our emotions of happiness, sadness, surprise and unfortunately show the signs of aging too. Our face is made up of 21 different facial muscles which work together to display these emotions.

The facial muscles include:

Occipitofrontalis – These muscles cover the frontal part of the skull which pull the scalp back and raise the eyebrows. This also results in wrinkles forming in the forehead.

Procerus – Small pyramid muscle sitting deep to the superior orbital nerve which pulls down on the skin between the eyebrows.

Nasalis muscle – Compresses the nasal cartilage and comprises of the transverse and alar.

Depressor septi nasi – This muscle can be found between the mucous membrane and the lip

Orbicularis oculi – These muscles aid in the closing of the eyes

Corrugator supercilii – Another muscle which results in causing wrinkles in the forehead. The muscle pulls the eyebrow downwards to produce these wrinkles.

Depressor supercilii – Is an eye muscle however its actions are often disputed and are considered by dermatologists to be an assistance in the movement of the eyebrow.

Auricular muscles (anterior, superior, posterior) – 3 muscles which are found around the ears.

Orbicularis oris – The muscle surrounding the mouth consisting of a number of fibers to aid in movement.

Depressor anguli oris – A small muscle which aids in frowning.

Risorius – This muscle is the main cause of the smile, retracting the angle of the mouth.

Zygomaticus major – Drawing on the angle of the mouth at the corners further aiding in facial expression.

Zygomaticus minor – Inserts on the upper lip and again helps to raise the corners of the mouth leading to a smile.

Levator labii superioris – One of the broadest muscles in the face extending from the side of the nose.

Levator labii superioris alaeque nasi – This muscle dilates the nostril, elevating the upper lip enabling people to snarl.

Depressor labii inferioris - A small muscle at the lower part of the face helping to lower the bottom lip.

Levator anguli oris – Very small muscle rising from the mouth.

Like any muscle in the body when they are not used regularly they gradually deteriorate over time. As a result the skin loses elasticity which then causes wrinkles to form.

Slendertone Face is a non surgical face lift which exercises these facial muscles to keep them active and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Gel Nails – Nail Art Ideas to Decorate Your Nails This Season

Gel Nails – Nail Art Ideas to Decorate Your Nails This Season
By Krill B

Designer nails can really make you look fashionable and chic. Nail art is one way to make your nails look really good and it lets you experiment with as many designs as the occasions or seasons demand. Nail art is best done by a professional, but you can also give the simpler designs a try at home with your friends. As you get better with the designs you will be able to create even complex designs with ease and unleash your creativity.

Nail art has emerged as one of the most popular nail beautifying ideas among the teens today. They stop at nothing to get the latest look and express their ideas through nail art. Nail paint of varied hues teamed with colorful stones, stickers, beads are a hot favorite. Nail jewellery like dangles are also used to create a unique look and attract a lot of attention.

The style, color and design selected for decorating your nails can vary either by season, occasion or even your mood. Free hand designs are really sought after as they are easy to create on your own without spending too much. However, should you decide to go in for the more intricate designs, you can opt for a French manicure with gel nail art.

As the holiday season nears, some cool nail art designs to pep up the spirit for Christmas can be to use red or white nail paint and then decorate your nails with tiny Christmas trees, holly leaves, bells, candy canes or even a little Santa with a toothpick. You can also add glitter to your nails to make them look festive and glamorous.

Winter calls for shiny metallic finish for the nails and then painting snowflakes with white nail paint on them. When it is Halloween, you can use black varnish as a base coat and then make figures of skulls, Jack o Lantern, ghosts and various Halloween figures.

If you think animal prints go well with your outfit, you can go for the Zebra, Dalmatian or Tiger designs. A white nail base with appropriate color stripes or dots to represent the animal and you are done with your look.

Marine nail art can make you look really cool. Blue base paint with transparent varnish can create a sea like look. You can use various colors for the fish and a little bit of green paint for the weeds. Sea horses and dolphins also look really good.

Nature can also be represented on your nails really beautifully. Flowers of different hues in all shades dark and light can be experimented with and never go out of style. You can team up nail art flowers with any outfit and carry if off with ease.

Other nail art forms which you can do are the Hawaiian theme. Though a little difficult and may require professional help for the hula dancers, you can do some flowers, garlands and beach scenes yourself.

If you are getting married, bridal nail art should surely be a part of your nail beautifying session. A manicure followed by pink varnish as a base and then using your imagination to paint tiny white flowers would make your nails look really delicate and ready for your wedding gown.

Nail art is for everyone who wants to look good and show off their creative talents on their nails. It is a great way to attract attention and also maintain your nails at the same time. Remember to wear gloves while gardening, apply cuticle oil for moisturizing your nails and of course apply your top coat often to maintain the look you have so painstakingly created.

Take advantage of our great Gel-Nails offers and deals every week and update yourself with what’s the latest and the most popular in the gel nails trend. Check out our new Gel Nail Art for a shopping experience that’s filled with fun, variety, exclusivity, and surprises with new gel nails additions.

What Does Your Hair Colour Say About You?

What Does Your Hair Colour Say About You?
By Sam Qam

There have always been stereotypes associated with hair colour. The most obvious of course being that blondes have more fun but aren’t smart enough to realize it. Aside from that the most common consensus is that blondes are sexy, redheads are hot headed and brunettes are good girls. I’m sure most of us can dispel these stereotypes with a few examples of girls we know. I happen to know a few brunettes who certainly don’t fit the bill.

The fact is your hair is your crowning glory and if it really stands out it can certainly make a big first impression. But what sort of impression?

Red

Redheads are said to be fiery, feisty, opinionated and hot-tempered. This doesn’t sound like the most positive spin but when contrasted with the other aspects such as exciting and seductive you begin to get the real idea of how redheads are seen. Natural Redheads are actually quite rare making up less than 5% of the population. As a result to pull of red hair (be it natural or dyed) you have to have some real confidence.

Brown

Brunettes have always been stereotyped as the good girls. Although not always the good girls everyone thinks, varying shades of brown can give brunettes a very elegant and sophisticated look. It is important that if you are dying your hair brown, that you don’t simply go for the one colour tone. Brown hair in particular can look boring in one shade. It’s best to apply a variety of shades (the more the better) to simulate a natural look. Quirky haircuts can really buck the trend of boring brunettes while still looking sexy.

Black

Black hair gives the impression of an exotic and mysterious woman. However black hair can be one of the hardest to pull off if it’s not natural. The fact of the matter is that black hair really puts focus on your complexion. If you don’t have very good skin black hair might show this up. Furthermore black hair can go dull very easily and needs good maintenance. A good conditioner like Aussie Conditioner is essential. Nicky Clarke hair products can finish off the whole effect. The effect of black hair however can be made more pronounced by mixing it with contrasting colour highlights such as red.

Blonde

Blondes are the sex bombs who just want to have fun. However it’s not all fun and games for blondes, as blonde hair colouring can be the hardest to maintain. If you do decide to go blonde you will probably end up getting a lot more attention, but it is key to find the right shade. Platinum blonde is really hard to maintain and isn’t for everyone, whereas subtler blondes can work for anyone.

Sam Qam used to be a part time stylist and recommended Aussie conditioner and Nicky Clarke hair products to many of his clients.

Confessions Of A Makeup Artist – How’d She Get Those LONG Lashes?!

Confessions Of A Makeup Artist – How’d She Get Those LONG Lashes?!
By Michelle Bouse

We all know boys are smiled upon at birth with long lashes… completely unfair due to the fact that the majority never put mascara on them.

Well here are some secrets for LONG Lovely Lashes…

BEST MASCARAS:

If you have lashes and they are shorter, a PRIMER works great to boost their thickness and length.

(Try Origins Underwear for Lashes or Maybelline Extreme with mascara & primer on each end)

1. Apply a generous (not clumpy) coat of the white colored primer to your lashes… coat the topside and under side. Until lashes are white (and look very strange)

2. Allow to dry for few minutes. Separating any clumping before fully dry.

3. Once dry, follow with a favorite lengthening mascara.

(Try Covergirl’s Lash Blast! My current favorite!)

* Because the primer coats the lash, when you apply mascara the lashes are thicker in diameter and slightly longer in length!

You can also try the lash lengtheners with FIBER flakes.

Be careful not to get into your eye… they irritate.

1. Apply a normal coat of your favorite mascara FIRST.

2. Allow to set for a minute.

3. Follow with the fibers on applicator – but only apply HALFWAY up the lash to end. If you apply at the base you will go nuts with clumping.

4. Wait a minute and apply SECOND coat of mascara.

* Because the fibers grab onto the mascara you can lengthen lashes by dragging fibers out to end of lashes.

LASH GROWERS:

Love, love, love REVITALASH. If you haven’t tried it yet, RUN to the local beauty supply and buy it!

This product works GREAT – I have seen tons of success stories!

It runs from about $100-$160 a tube but with last 4 months and you should start seeing results within 2-4 weeks. It is crazy!

Apply product on clean skin like eyeliner before bed. Only once a day is needed – if you apply more there is no benefit.

Some people have a slight irritation to starting the product, if the reaction is NOT severe try every other night. YOU will LOVE this product!

TEMP LASHES:

False eyelashes work wonders for the eyes as well. These are mostly for events and can last for a few days. You can find a pro to apply or try it yourself.

STRIP lashes…

These come all ready to go.

1. Take out of box and measure on eye, trim if lash is too long.

2. Take a drop of adhesive and with a toothpick apply a THIN line of adhesive on the band.

3. Wait one minute for glue to start drying.

4. Apply strip at base of lashes gliding and holding down from tearduct to end.

Hold in place for 1 minute until glue dries. Takes a few times to master.

(Best glue is DUO – won’t harm natural lashes, but is made with LATEX)

(BEST lashes, ARDELL – fabulous!)

INDIVIDUAL lashes…

These come in Short, Medium and Long

Using a vary of sizes and layering them on top of one another makes for a great natural effect to the lash line.

(Try ANDREA or ARDELL flares)

1. Remove flares CAREFULLY with a tweezer at the base of the clump.

2. Dip knot into drop of adhesive.

3. Starting on outer corner apply longer lengths in lash line – not onto skin on eyelid.

4. Vary lengths graduating to short at tearduct.

5. Repeat application until no holes or gaps appear.

6. Look up and in mirror to see the shape and design of lashes.

LASH EXTENSIONS:

Do not attempt these yourself – find a GOOD certified, licensed professional!

These eliminate the need for MASCARA and are addicting.

Once applied, these can be filled every month just like artificial nails get filled.

There are so many options in the LASH EXTENSION world now.

Natural, funky, full, longer, dramatic and even colored or highlighted.

Lash extensions take a synthetic lash and applies it to ONE of your own natural lashes 1-2mm from the lash line. This procedure is repeated 40-70 times on EACH EYE, until desired look is achieved.

They are truly amazing and when applied properly, no one can tell they are not your own lashes and no damage occurs.

With the J curl, C curl, B curl, S curl, Y lash, W lash and Volume lashes a lash artist can truly customize any look for each individual client.

They last up to 2 months without fills or forever with monthly maintenance.

After 24 hours they are WATERPROOF and you just need to avoid OIL – this will remove adhesive.

So whether you need a boost for a day or want LONG lashes everyday – you have options. The next time you see someone’s lashes that are LONG and lovely, remember, you probably know how they got them!

Facial and Body Clay Masks -All You Ever Wanted to Know About Facial Clay Masks

Facial and Body Clay Masks -All You Ever Wanted to Know About Facial Clay Masks
By Danny Siegenthaler

Facial Clay Masks are part of a complete skin care regime and should be included at least twice a week in your daily skin care regime. There are however clays, and then there are high quality, premium cosmetic/beauty clays.

Argiletz clays are amongst the best clays on the market today. They are free from any contaminants and have many beneficial effects on the skin, making them ideal clays to use for facial and body clay masks. But what exactly are these facial clay masks and what do they actually do to your skin that is so beneficial? In this article we will take a close up look at facial clay masks, how they work, what makes them an essential part of your skin care regime and how your skin benefits from their use.

What are clays?

Clays are naturally occurring substances containing minerals, trace elements and nutrients. Clay is a part of most soils and gardeners the world over are very familiar with the properties of clay rich soils.

In the beauty industry however, clays are used in different ways, however, the properties of the clays don’t change, their applications however, do.

Argiletz clays are high quality sun dried clays that come from Argiletz, a region in France, where they are extracted at specific depths in areas that are free from contamination. They are quarried under strict conditions to ensure that their mineral content and purity is retained.

Green Argiletz clay for example is a bio-mineral, which is naturally concentrated, containing various mineral salts and trace elements including: Silica, aluminum, magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, copper, zinc, selenium, cobalt, manganese and many others.

What do facial clays do? and How do they Work on the skin?

These mineral salts, trace elements and other nutrients listed above have a detoxifying, nourishing, restoring and soothing effect on the skin.

Clay is naturally absorbent and draws toxins from deep in the skin’s tissues, thus cleansing and detoxifying the skin. Its slight grainy texture exfoliates dead skin cells from the surface layer of your skin, while the nutrients contained in the clay have a toning and firming effect on the skin.

By adding plant hydrosols such as Melissa, Niauoli, Rose and others, the natural benefits of the different facial/body clays can be further enhanced.

Types of Clays used in our Facial/Body Clay Masks

There are many clays and types of clay, however in this article I will focus on what are arguably the best quality clays on the market today. The different Argiletz clays used in Wildcrafted Herbal Products’ facial/body clay masks.

Green Clay

The most absorbing of the Clays, Green Clay is generally used as a Face Mask for tissue repair, drawing toxins from the skin and to normalise excessive secretions of oil or sweat. Applied as a Face or Body Mask, facial clay masks cleanse, exfoliate, smoothe and soften the skin. Green clay is especially good at drawing toxins out.

White Clay

White clay is a mild clay used for normal skin. It has similar properties as green clay and is suitable for Face and Body Masks for young and sensitive or mature and delicate skins. Applied as a powder, White Clay is an excellent body deodorant and a natural alternative to talcum powder. White Clay is the Clay of Choice for use as a Hand Mask to soothe and soften dry hands.

Red Clay

Red clay is high in iron oxide, hence its colour, and helpful for broken capillaries, bags under the eyes and sensitive skin types. It is used for toning the bust, thighs, stomach and upper arms. Red clay is an oily, mildly absorbent clay and is used for Face and Body Masks in cases of dry, sensitive or mature skin.

Pink Clay

This Clay is intended for use in a maintenance programme for the face and body. The softening effect of Pink Clay refines the skin’s texture while toning the epidermis (outer layer of the skin).

Yellow Clay

Yellow clay is used for normal skin and has similar properties as green clay. This clay is derived from the iron oxide, Xanthoria Parietina. Yellow Clay is generally used for Face and Body Masks, particularly in cases where the condition of the skin and body needs revitalising. Yellow Clay is recommended for most skin types to restore tired and neglected skin.

Note: Be careful of coloured clays, there are many manufacturers that add dies to clay to produce artificially coloured clays, which do not have the same properties of effects and may well do you more harm than good. So choose carefully

What are the effects of Natural Clays on the skin?

As indicated above, Argiletz Clays are pure, mineral-rich clays that help detoxify, cleanse, tone and revitalize your skin when used in masks and/or in body/face creams. They also have a nutritive effect on the skin. It is important to choose the right facial clay for your skin.

How to use the clays?

The Earth Medicine Facial Clays should be used once or twice a week, prior to toning and moisturising, as a special cleansing skin treatment. The gel based clay blends can be used as a gentle, conditioning exfoliant scrub, whilst the cream based clay blends can be used as a mask to nourish, moisturise and hydrate.

Masks

The Cream based clays are designed for use as masks. Apply sufficient Clay Crème to the face and neck and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off in warm water.

Facial Gel Wash

The Gel based facial clay washes are designed for use as gentle exfoliant and toning scrubs. Simply moisten the face and neck with warm water and apply a small amount of Clay Gel and massage into a light foam for 2 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

How To Create An Exotic Makeup – Secrets – Tricks And Tips
By Kaysee New

I have always wondered how those beautiful women can look so beautiful; I am talking about Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty queens. It was interesting to find out that the make up they use has a yellow based tone. During the survey it was discovered that out of 100 contestants 98 of them had a yellow under skin tone, which means the majority of women have yellow skin tones. It does not matter if you are Caucasian, Asian, Latin, African or American, the yellow based tone make up matches your skin colour perfectly. When Miss Universe 1998 and 1999 were crowned they were wearing make up with yellow under tone.

Here are some tips you can try at home to get that exotic sexy look:

-It’s crucial that you find the right foundation colour before anything else. Majority of women around the world have a yellow under toned skin, therefore it’s crucial that they look for cosmetics to match their complexion perfectly. The foundation should match your skin perfectly and create a flawless look without leaving your skin orangey, ashy and un-natural.

-Follow with powder to set the foundation, if you have oily shiny skin, try ultra matte compact.

-Always use a dark shade of blush to contour and emphasize your cheek bones, to get that exotic finish highlights your upper cheek with a light shimmer blush.

-Most yellow toned cosmetics have the most amazing eye colours, use the light shade on the entire eyelid, follow with a medium shade on lower part up to the crease, and blend the colours to create a natural look. To complete the look ,follow with a dark shade on the corner to create depth.

-Use dark eyeliner if you got dark skin tone; apply from centre to corners using light strokes.

-Finish the look wit mascara to emphasize your eyes,

-Apply lip colour of your choice using lip brush, top it up with lip shine.

The master rule is that, what ever you apply, always BLEND, BLEND, and BLEND.

It is important to find an eye cream that does not contain any harsh chemicals. These will only make things worse and will not improve the appearance of the skin around your eyes.

Those bags and wrinkles could be due to several different factors. It could be you inherited them from your parents, meaning they are genetic, or simply because you are aging or due to your unhealthy lifestyle.

If you do not eat high antioxidant foods it will cause you to have an unhealthy appearance. Lack of sleep, not drinking sufficient water, as well as spending too much time in the sun without proper protection, all these can lead to wrinkles and other signs of unhealthy skin and health.

Whatever you put on your skin is absorbed into your body, so you want to use a top eye cream that contains only natural ingredients. Make sure to read the label of any eye cream you purchase to ensure it contains specially formulated ingredients such as Eyeliss, Haloxyl, and Homeoage as these substances were specifically manufactured to treat the delicate skin around your eyes.

You also need natural moisturizing oils to replace the oils you have lost from your body due to aging. As you age your oil producing glands slows down and your skin becomes dry, especially the area around your eyes. Look for natural oils such as avocado, macadamia, jojoba and grapeseed.

Another factor that affects your appearance as you age is the slow down in production of collagen and elastin in your system. Collagen and elastin are vital to keeping your skin firm, toned and elastic. Being able to produce high levels of these two is vital.

Cynergy TK is a substance that will enhance your body’s production of collagen as well as elastin. It naturally stimulates the production of these two vital proteins in your body leading to firm tight healthy looking skin.

Any top eye cream you purchase must contain these vital ingredients if you want to see an improvement in your eyes. However it is important you research to find the right product. You only want to use a product that is safe and effective and will give you long term result with no side effects.

To say goodbye to bags, dark circles and wrinkles underneath your eyes, find the best rated top eye cream today.

What Are Flower Essences and Vibrational Medicine?

Flower essence
© Photographer: Kuleczka | Agency: Dreamstime.com

By Eric Cech

The term ‘vibrational medicine’ is being heard more frequently these days, with many folks wondering what this new fancy healing technique might be. Vibrational medicine refers to the entire realm of healing concentrating on modalities that attune to, or transform, one’s energetic vibration – this includes flower and gem essences, and many other remedies. Yes, it sounds a little outrageous to some, but the more one investigates both the realities of both modern physics and ancient mystical religions, the more these healing techniques make sense.

One can imagine that all form, be it the earth, plants, animals, the stars – everything – is made of energy. Einstein proclaimed this in his famous equation: energy equals mass times the square of the speed of light. And all this energy is vibrating in particular patterns – that’s why rose looks like a rose, and not a caterpillar – the rose, like every other thing we can sense, has a unique vibration. Vibrational medicine works on the idea that you, personally, have a unique vibration. Your body, your thoughts and your feelings have unique vibrations. And the most healthy expression of this vibration might be somewhat different than your current state. AND, your vibration can be influenced by other vibrations.

Now lets imagine that we as human beings are also made up of, at some level, vibrational energy. If we take this a step further, one can imagine that our soul or spirit or whatever term you’d like to use here, has a vibration or etheric pattern of its own. Your ‘soul pattern’ includes your emotional makeup, and it directly influences your actions, choices, and perceptions of the world, both on a material and a spiritual level.

It turns out, as Dr. Edward Bach discovered in the 1930′s, that flower essences can alter our own etheric patterns. The vibrational imprint of a flower, prepared in water, can directly effect our own energetic makeup in a positive way. If you imagine that every emotion has a particular vibration, you can also imagine that vibration being affected or ‘tuned’ by the introduction of another vibration – that of a flower essence.

We’ll take the clear example of the use of one of Dr. Bach’s original flower essences, Impatiens. You can think of being ‘impatient’ as being a bit ‘high strung’, where nothing is happening fast enough, with an overall sense of anxiety. This can be thought of as a particular vibration common to many individuals of the human species, and it may also be thought of as not particularly pleasant or useful – a ‘stress’ one might want to alter or release. By taking the Impatiens flower essence, the vibration of the flower synergistically alters a particular vibration of the individual, resulting in a noticeable calming action for many people.

The use of the word ‘synergistically’ here is important: it has been found that each flower essence affects certain ‘soul patterns’ and not others. For example, if one is by nature, a patient person, one would not likely be affected by Impatiens flower essence. This is one of the many beauties of flower essence therapy – they are completely safe for anyone to take. An incorrectly chosen flower essence will likely result in no effect at all; there are no ‘side effects’ to be spoken of.

And this is a relatively simple case; one’s vibrational makeup may be affected by a particularly stressful early childhood relationship with one’s mother, and one could choose a flower essence to assist in the change or healing of that emotional vibration (Evening Primrose, as an example). There is clearly a great breadth of human emotion and experience, and as such there are a great many flower essences available. Often, individuals will work with several essences at once, either taking them each separately throughout the day, or mixing them into one clean dropper bottle from which to dispense this personalized formula.

While a few ‘formal’ guidelines are given, there are no hard-and-fast rules for the use of flower essences. You can simply begin with one of the ‘commonly’ prescribed methods, and explore creative ways to incorporate the flowers into your life as you see fit. Most flower essences can be used directly from the ‘stock’ bottle (the dilution level at which most flower essences are sold); a typical usage schedule is 4 drops in the mouth (or taken in a glass of water), 4 times daily. Because of the particularly dynamic nature of daily awakening and retiring, the most important times may be immediately upon waking, and just before going to sleep. The other 2 times may be before lunch and upon arriving home at the end of a workday – really, whatever times might best suit your daily rhythms. Frequency is really most important, so if you find opening the essence bottles many times a day a little challenging, sixteen drops can also be added to a water bottle and the water sipped throughout the day for a similar effect.

Flower Essences can be further diluted from the stock bottle to a ‘dosage bottle’ for regular use. One can add 1 or more droppers-full from the stock bottle to a clean 1 ounce dropper bottle and fill the rest, optimally, with spring water. Blends can also be made this way, adding 1 or more droppers-full from each flower essence to the 1 ounce dropper bottle, filling the rest with spring water. The receiving bottle should either be new, or boiled in water to remove old residue – because of the nature of flower essences, they can pick up etheric vibration left over. Also, whenever using flower essences from the stock bottle, be conscious of not touching the dropper tip to anything – your tongue, hands, another bottle, etc. – to help maintain the vibrational purity of the flower essence. Dilution of the essences will have different effects for different people – some folks consider the dosage bottle essences just as potent as the stock bottle, whereas others find different results. The different results may be due to the dilution methods, and the purity of the water into which the essences have been added. Use your intuition here, and be as careful and kind to the essences as possible when creating your own dosage formula.

Because flower essences work on an emotional level, sometimes described as the ‘soul level’, it is important to remember that changes may best be made gradually. Flower essence therapy has been most successful when the essences are taken regularly, most often for the period of about 1 month, for changes in ‘core’ emotional issues to be seen. Some essences, like Rescue Remedy, are blended to have an effect regarding a recent (minutes, hours, days) traumatic event. Yarrow Environmental Solution was created to offer protection from our modern environment on a daily basis, while not necessarily addressing personal emotional situations. Still other essences, like ‘Impatiens’ – used to calm an impatient aspect of personality – works fairly quickly in some cases. One user regularly felt the effect within 10 minutes while the impatience was still a significant part of his personality, with the entire personality aspect being slowly washed away after long-term use. So, in most instances, if trying to clear or change some significant part of your soul makeup, try at least a few weeks of regular use.

By John Mentis

So you want to grow longer tresses and you are wondering are there any growing hair tips that actually work? The good news is that there is and so in this article I will share with you a few of the most powerful strategies to grow your mane.

1. The first step is to trim the ends of your hair. Yes it is true trims will not make your tresses grow longer but they will prevent split ends from occurring so cut the ends of your mane every 8 to 10 weeks.

2. You need to condition your mane. The best frequency is once a day, use a natural conditioner and never a commercial one. This is one of the best growing hair tips I can share with you because it keeps your hair healthy and elastic.

3. Treat your mane like china. You want to make sure you always get smooth or soft hair accessories and avoid heavy or rough metal parts that may cause damage your tresses. You don’t want to damage them as damage tends to slow down growth.

4. Stay way from the hair dryer. And sue it ever so infrequently, heat will damage the hair. If you need to use it,use a diffuser and a heat protectant spray.

5. If you eat well you will have a faster growing mane. A well balanced and nutritious diet is crucial for growing healthy locks. You also want to consume foods high in omega-3 fatty acids which will keep your locks beautiful, healthy, thick, strong and shiny.

6. The key to getting thick and healthy tresses is to keep your scalp clean. the cleaner your scalp the faster your follicles will grow. One of the best hair growing tips I can give you is to use Mira oil, it will detoxify your scalp, clean out your scalp and has enough herbs that stimulate the growth of new tresses. A natural oil will always keep your hair moist and help to grow your mane.

7. Stay away from tight hairstyles. A very tight hairstyle will pull and tear at your locks. so wear loose styles that will allow your tresses to grow naturally.

8. When you sleep, sleep with a stain scarf over your mane. It prevents tears and breakages which aid in the loss of your tresses.

9. When combing your mane, do so gently. Never comb or brush aggressively as it will damage your tresses. One of the great growing hair tips is to use a wide toothed comb, it will detangle your locks and also stimulate blood flow to the scalp.

10. Stay away from chemical based hair product and gels. These contain Sulphates that strip away sebum which slow down growth and that can damage your hair.

11. Get a scalp massage. Scalp massages will push blood to the follicles which will allow the right nourishment to get to your locks. Use the above mentioned Mira oil with the scalp massage. Take a little of the oil, apply on the scalp and hair roots and massage it into the scalp using the tips of your fingers. Use small circular motions starting from the back of the head to the front of your head.

These 11 growing hair tips will give you the mane you have always wanted. Be patient and stick to it and you will have longer locks in a very short period of time.

How to Eliminate Dark Circles Under Your Eyes – Just Eliminate the Cause of the Problem

By Kathryn Lane

If you want to eliminate dark circles under your eyes, the best way is to eliminate the cause. Most treatments are cover-ups, do nothing for skin health, and have to be repeated over and over.

This article explains the most common cause, and shows you exactly how to eliminate circles around your eyes.

The #1 cause of dark circles under the eyes is leaking tiny blood vessels, or capillaries, under the skin. The skin under the eyes is thinner and more delicate than anywhere on your face. It’s easily injured, the capillaries easily broken.

For that reason, you should make it a rule never, ever to rub around your eyes. I know, that can be a difficult promise to keep to yourself, especially if you have allergies.

A possible medical cause is iron-deficiency anemia. You should discuss this with your doctor. Anemia requires medical treatment, and should not be ignored. However, there are millions of people with dark under eye circles, and anemia is probably the cause of a relatively small number of those.

For the rest of us, the problem is different.

What happens: When the capillaries under the eyes leak, the seeping fluid contains hemoglobin. This is the compound which carries oxygen through the bloodstream to every cell in the body. When hemoglobin is saturated with oxygen, it is bright red. When it leaks out of the blood vessel, it loses its oxygen and turns bluish or purple. Only a tiny amount is usually leaking, but it adds up over time and darkens, so you get dark gray or purple circles under your eyes.

The skin here is thin to start with. If you lose fat under the skin as you get older, it seems thinner still. So the damage of the leaky blood vessels is most obvious under your eyes.

Your genes play a part in this. Some populations, such as southern Italians and others, have a tendency to under-eye dark circles. If this runs in your family, you have a partial explanation. But if you don’t like those dark circles, you don’t have to give up and accept them.

Circles under the eyes can mean something different, too. Some people are thinking about the puffy circles under the eyes that a lot of us just call “bags under the eyes.” Bags are caused by poor drainage and loss of elasticity in the skin.

These two things don’t necessarily go together. Many people have dark circles, many others have bags under the eyes, and a few have to deal with both problems.

There is an effective answer to both problems.

A really good under eye cream or eye serum (two names, same kind of product) can do the job. It must contain ingredients proven to do the job. I’ll name two that do.

– Haloxyl has been shown in clinical studies to reduce dark under-eye circles by more than 60 percent. It strengthens the blood vessels, helps remove the accumulated hemoglobin and other waste products under the eyes, and rebuilds the delicate skin.

– Eyeliss reduced capillary permeability (the leaking), improved circulation of lymph under the eyes to reduce the puffiness, and gave the skin more firmness and elasticity.

They are both ingredients in a product I recommend to eliminate circles around eyes.

Ancient Egypt’s Beauty Secrets Revealed

Egypt
© Photographer: Luisafernandab2002 | Agency: Dreamstime.com

By Janet Martin

Ancient Egypt has not only given us the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza. The beauty treatments and procedures that many of us are enjoying nowadays are in fact inspired or derived from the practices of the old Egyptian civilization.

It is not really surprising that Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony found Egypt as an interesting and intoxicating place. Although much of the perceptions of beauty that these two men had were influenced by their desire for the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra, it is safe to say that both Marc Anthony and Julius Caesar also found all Egyptians amazing because of their penchant for proper hygiene and beauty. Furthermore, women in Egypt were not the only ones who were concerned about the way they look and smell. Egyptian guys also fuss as much when it comes to their appearance.

In fact, scientists found that bath oils and other beauty implements were used as payment or wages, even to the lowliest of laborers. Moreover, cosmetics and other beauty-related products or ingredients, and not food, were the primary reason why ancient Egypt engaged in foreign trade. Here are some the beauty secrets from Ancient Egypt that can still be practiced even today.

Milk Bath

You must have heard of how AHA, or Alpha Hydroxy Acid, is important in exfoliating your skin. In fact, if you look at the ingredients of many skin products sold in the market today, you will realize that majority of them contain AHA. Queen Cleopatra, the epitome of beauty even up to the present, used AHA through milk baths to keep her skin soft and smooth as ever. It is a common misconception that AHA is a synthetic ingredient. In reality, however, this substance is naturally found in milk and other citrus fruits.

Since it would be quite wasteful (and expensive) to put gallons of full cream milk on your tub everyday, you can reap benefits of AHA in different ways. Surely there are bath soaps, bubble baths and lotions that contain milk to help you achieve the same effect as the milk bath enjoyed by Queen Cleopatra during the old days.

Honey Mask

Did you know that when mummies where excavated and examined, experts found that one food substance used on the bodies to keep them unspoiled was honey? In fact, many scientists believe that honey is one of the reasons why mummies of Egypt were preserved well.

Honey is not only beneficial in the embalming process. In fact, people who are alive and healthy can also make use of it to keep a clear and smooth skin. Since honey is a humectant, it can attract and maintain water, keeping your skin well-hydrated. You can use honey for your face, skin and hair. Just make sure that you rinse your face and body a few minutes after you put honey because you don’t want to stain your sheets. Moreover, always go for pure natural honey, otherwise ants and other insects will feast on you because of the sugar content found in low-quality honey.

Myrrh

If there is one substance that kept Egyptians, particularly those in the highest social strata, smelling fresh and clean, it is myrrh. This fragrant oil was prized because it has to be imported from other places. Egyptians used myrrh as an incense and oil to disinfect their bodies or clothing and to make their breaths smell good.

Botanical Oils

Researches have discovered that people during this time used over 21 aromatic oils to protect their skin from the scorching sun, keep them from smelling bad, and treat skin problems like stretch marks, wrinkles and probably even cellulite. But since it would be hard to secure the same recipes for lotions and creams at present, it would be better for us to just stick to the lotions and creams that are available now.

What you can copy from the Egyptians is their diligence and regular application of these lotions and creams. Incidentally, if you have problems with cellulite, you may want to regularly apply an anti-cellulite cream, such as Celrase, to help minimize the appearance of dimples on your skin.
