Thread lifting your way to a young face
Thread lift is a short, minimal invasive cosmetic procedure that helps in wiping away the wrinkles. Also known as ‘lunchtime facelift’, it has many advantages over other cosmetic techniques.
Thread lift doesn’t require anesthesia and do not form scars. The thread lifting treatment is not painful and the recovery time is barely two or three days. While other lift jobs make the skin artificially taut, thread lift gives a natural effect. It is less expensive and has the approval of FDA.
Thread lift is evolved from the string lifts of the 70s. String lifts were done by sewing gold threads to pull the skin back. The trouble with this procedure was that the threads would rupture or bunching occurs necessitating removal of string altogether.

The thread can be loosened or tightened as per the requirement of the patient. However, thread lift can be performed only on people with specific conditions. The ideal candidate for the procedure is one with minimum loosening of skin. With a thread lift job done, they will look still younger. For those in their 30s and 40s, thread lift is a good choice. It can lift various parts of the face, starting to sag with gravity. Thread lift is used to do away with the frown line, stretching from side of the nose to the edges of the mouth. The drawback of the treatment is that it cannot do away with deep wrinkles and furrows. For those with too much loose skin, the thread won’t be able to hold its weight. If you are over 60, it is better to go for face-lift or eyebrow lift.
Unlike other lift jobs, thread lift pose minimum risk from infection and bleeding is very little. A few complications can happen like asymmetry, dimpling and bunching of skin. However, the process is easily reversible by removing the thread. Alternatively, the thread may be tightened or loosened later to correct the complication. The success of the treatment depends entirely on the skill of the surgeon.
As the thread lifting procedure is simple with no hospitalization involved, it is naturally less expensive than other similar procedures. It is the modern woman’s new weapon against ageing.
